Mayor Fischer is thankful for new jobs

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer says he's thankful that Louisville residents are getting back to work.  The mayor made his remarks at his Community Thanksgiving Breakfast.

He says new Ford jobs and jobs at other local companies are helping people re-enter the workforce, and he has goals of getting even more people back to work next year:  "I want to see the unemployment level to drop significantly.  I want to see the Ohio River Bridges Project start as well, that's one thing we need to move forward on in the community."

The event sponsored by the YMCA is an annual opportunity for business, community, and civil leaders to join together.  Students from Fern Creek and PRP performed at the event.
