LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Two men accused of murdering their sexual partner and burying his body in the basement of an Old Louisville home were back in court Tuesday.
Joseph Banis and Jeffery Mundt will be tried separately for the murder of 37-year-old James Carroll. The coroner says he was stabbed and shot before being buried in a plastic container.
Police think Carroll was killed in 2009, but didn't discover his body until June 2010. The two defendants point the finger of blame at each other.
Detective Jon Lesher explains, "He tells us that his boyfriend Jeffery Mundt, he said, 'The house that I was at earlier tonight where I got arrested from,' he said, 'My boyfriend Jeffery Mundt killed him and he buried him in the basement.'"
