LOUISVILLE, Ky.  (WDRB) --  Police recaptured a jail escapee in Shelby County, Ky., on Tuesday, Franklin Co. Sheriff Pat Melton said.

Officers from the Franklin and Shelby Co. Sheriff's Departments arrested Billy Giles at 4:44 p.m. Tuesday in a residence at 69 Clay Village in Shelby County, Melton said in a news release.

Giles was hiding in a wall in the basement of the home, officers said.

They had been searching for Billy Giles since November 4.  That's when he walked away from a work release detail from the Franklin County Regional Jail, Melton said.

Giles was taken into custody "without incident." Officers have returned him to the Franklin County Regional Jail at Frankfort.

He is charged with flagrant non-support and second degree escape.  Giles is held without bond, the release said.
