Swapping Gigs with Sterling Riggs: Gift Wrapper

Posted: Updated:

Finding and buying the perfect gift is only half the battle.

You still have the daunting task of hiding it in festive paper.

That's a task, gift wrapping expert, Kristen Dolle has down to an art.

Her family owns Plaything Toy Shop in Louisville and she has competed in National gift wrapping competitions.

Sterling Riggs: "Alright Kristen. Let's find something to wrap."

Kristen Dolle: "Let's see if we can wrap these."

SR:  "The horse in a bag. OK. Let's try."

SR:  "Oops. We are not off to a good start."

KD:  "I'll show you an easy way to wrap this dog in a purse."

SR:  "I don't know if that is going to work."

KD:  "Well there are a couple of things that are important. The first one is ripping the right amount of paper. The second one is folding."

SR:  "My niece is three years old. Isabella would love this gift, and at the end of the day, I don't know if she cares about my wrapping job. She just cares about what is inside."

KD:  "I've worked here for 10 years. So over the years you just kind of get good at it."
"Alright, let's see what they look like. Where's yours Sterling?"

SR:  "It's right here. It looks pretty good."

KD:  "It's not too bad."

SR:  "Until you flip it over."

Since Kristen made me look bad on the first challenge; I found something that might give her some trouble. This Frog with long arms and legs. Again, she handled it like a pro!

SR: "Alright Kristen, your skills are very impressive. My skills need a little work; therefore I am going back to my old method. The trusty bag. Merry Christmas."
