SHEPHERDSVILLE, KENTUCKY. (WDRB)--A Bullitt County man accused of raping underage girls is now behind bars.
"Last Wednesday, Henry Edward Sparks was arrested here in Bullitt County," says Det. Scotty McGaha, with the Bullitt County Sheriff's Office.
Henry Sparks seemed to be living a very low-key life in a secluded area in Shepherdsville, but police say he was hiding from a terrible secret. "The cases that I am going to be involved in are from '83 all the way up to about 1989."
Detective McGaha says Sparks raped a young girl years ago, but the victim is just now coming forward. "Back then she was a very young girl and they're afraid."
And there's more, Bullitt County Detectives have learned there are at least two more alleged victims, and all of them were underage at the time.
"I know the victim in Grayson County was under 12, the victim I have is now over 12 and that she was under 12 at the time incidents took place and the other victim I believe she is going to be under 12. Well, I know she is under 12 also."
Sparks was recently released from jail in Grayson County and is now being held at the Bullitt County Detention Center. Police say the current case against him is strong.
"It's an ongoing investigation, there could be more charges but he has been cooperating and he...I'll just say he did not deny what took place with the victim."
And police say there could be more charges because there could be more victims. "I hope there's no more but unfortunately we're afraid there may be."
Right now, Sparks is being held on a one-hundred thousand dollar cash bond. Anyone with information about Sparks should call the Bullitt County Sheriff's office.
