LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Metro police are disputing rumors that attacks near Fourth Street Live have recently increased.

First Division Major Jeff Wardrip appeared before the Metro Council's public safety committee this afternoon.

He says officers have investigated a few street robberies, a sexual assault, and a purse theft that led to a stolen car.

Those incidents happened in September and October.

Police have also made one arrest.

"We have not seen an increase in crime in that area--not much of the property crime in that area. There has not been a dramatic increase over any other area in Louisville," says Wardrip.

He says 11 officers are normally committed to patrolling the Fourth Street area along with additional private security officers.
