LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- What does it take to be the top cop in Louisville?

People are getting a chance to weigh in on what they want to see in Louisville's next police chief.

Tonight marked the first of the city's public forums on the subject.

Metro Council members led the meetings by jotting down ideas and letting everyone share opinions.

"We want justice and fairness. We have a lot of kids in the community and adults that are hauled into court and entangled in the law," says West Louisville resident Clifton David.

David says he sees a disproportionate number of kids in trouble in his neighborhood.

He hopes that the next police chief can help change that.

Current chief Robert White is leaving to take a job in Denver.
