Spierer still missing six months later

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The mother of missing IU student Lauren Spierer says she doesn't feel any closer to finding her daughter.

This weekend marks six months since 20-year-old Lauren Spierer went missing.

On Saturday, more than 50 people gathered outside the Bloomington apartment where she lived before she vanished.

Spierer's parents say they will never stop looking for Lauren and are thankful for the community's support.

"Every day when we walk through town. Wherever we go, there's a hug, there's a hello, there's a prayer. We do get a tremendous amount of support from the people of Bloomington," says Robert Spierer, Lauren's father.

Lauren Spierer's IU classmates, roommates, childhood friends and volunteer searchers later walked to Fountain Square Mall, where a small blue tree is decorated with tags featuring photos of Spierer.
