LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41)---

Several EMS workers sat in on tonight's Metro Council meeting in regards to their contract, or lack thereof.

Todd Thomason, the Secretary of Teamsters Local 783, tells WDRB that Louisville EMS has been without a contract for 18 months.

He says they attended the meeting to let council members see that they are united, and are being patient.

Thomason says the hold-up has been over a monetary issue, but wouldn't elaborate.

Chris Poynter, a spokesman for Mayor Greg Fischer, says "We are working with union leaders and are nearing a decision."

WDRB is told the union and Mayor Greg Fischer must agree on the contract before they present it to council members.
