LOUISVILLE, KY (WDRB) –- JCPS has moved closer to making changes to its student assignment plan.
Administrators presented proposed changes to the plan Monday night. They would like to see the district continue to be divided into six clusters. An earlier proposal had suggested splitting district into 12 or 13 clusters.
After studying the plan for months, administrators believe their proposal will allow JCPS to maintain diversity and reduce ride times for many of its students.
"I think it's a good recommendation," said Director of Student Assignment Jack Jacobs. "I think there are a lot of great things in this recommendation We will wait for the January ninth board meeting, and we'll talk to the Board again."
Officials say the sticking with the six clusters would eliminate the need to buy extra buses.
