Louisville Metro says no cable TV interruption even without agreement

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro government says there will be no interruption in cable television service even if there is no agreement on a new contract.  Lawyers representing the city and Insight Communications are still negotiating.

Mayor Greg Fischer wants Insight to guarantee that it will keep a 900-employee call center in Louisville after the company is purchased by Time-Warner.  Insight has said it cannot do that.

The contract with the city expires at the end of the year, but a city spokesperson says even if there is no new contract by then, service would continue under an interim agreement.
