LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- There's a move underway to revoke the historic status of a property blocking an East End Bridge.  At issue is whether the Drumanard Estate across U.S. 42 in the East End is historic.

Developer Denis Frankenberger helped file a petition with the National Register of Historic Places to eliminate Drumanard's historic status.  Frankenberger claims documents filed to claim the estate as being historic only asked to do so because of a potential highway that would be part of the Ohio River Bridges Project.

He says the result is billions of dollars wasted, travel inconveniences, and bridge delays.  One plan is to build a tunnel under the Drumanard property, which is expected to cost $260 million.
