LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- 2011 was a pretty good year for the Louisville International Airport.

The Louisville Regional Airport Authority says major accomplishments this year include brand new food and beverage places, renovations around the airport, and long-term parking rehab.

Looking ahead, the board hopes to complete the first phase of the Crittenden Drive relocation project, which includes construction of a viaduct between Crittenden Drive and Strawberry Lane.

"If we are successful with the state legislators this year, we believe we will get additional $15 million dollar investment. We believe that we could bring that project to fruition for all three phases sometime late 2014 or early 2015," Skip Miller of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority.

The board is also planning to put up state-of-the-art LED airfield signs, a quick turn-around lot for rental cars, and buying new passenger boarding bridges.
