LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- There are a lot of questions about the mental health of the man police say shot and killed the mayor of a small western Kentucky town.

Authorities say Thomas Lattus walked into the police station shortly after the murder on January 23rd and admitted shooting Hickman Mayor Charles Murphy.

When an officer asked why, Lattus responded by saying something about the Lord's tongue.

Lattus' attorney is requesting a mental health evaluation, but a judge denied it, saying it could be done later.  The case now goes to a Fulton County grand jury.
