LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- More than 800 jobs could be coming to southern Indiana by October, but officials are being tight-lipped on whether the company that's hiring is Amazon.

The online retailer is said to be interested in building a one million square foot facility in Jeffersonville.  It would employ up to 1600 employees during the peak Christmas season.

Jeffersonville's Planning Commission approved the plans Tuesday night.

John Bancroft with KTR Capital Partners, when asked whether the interested company is Amazon, replied, "No I cannot...I am not in a position to speak to that."

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels and others have hinted that the online retailer would be a good fit.  Amazon did not return our calls.
