LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say one Louisville suspect didn't mince words when they came to his door to question him about a wreck Monday afternoon.

According to an arrest report, witnesses saw 50-year-old Craig S. Maloney driving down Oliverda Drive, near Dixie Hwy. and the Gene Snyder Freeway, shortly before noon on Monday. Witnesses say he drove through several yards, then crashed into a garage, "causing severe damage."

Police say he then left the scene and went home to his house on Riverdale Road, just off of Oliverda Drive.

According to an arrest report, Maloney admitted being involved in the crash when police knocked on his door.

"Yep, I did it," he allegedly said. "I messed up."

Police say the truck in his driveway matched the description witnesses gave of the vehicle involved in the incident, and police also noticed that it was severely damaged.

Police say Maloney admitted to drinking beer and vodka since 1 a.m., and "smelled heavily of an alcoholic beverage," was "very uneasy on his feet" and had slurred speech.

Maloney is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and criminal mischief.
