LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say they've arrested a Shively man because he was living somewhere he wasn't supposed to be.

Specifically, he was living 25 yards away from the Mill Creek Elementary School playground.

According to an arrest report, 73-year-old Willie J. Fanning is assigned to the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry for the rest of his life.

The registry's Web site indicates that he has been charged with two counts of rape, two counts of sodomy and one count of attempted rape in the past.

The victim in at least one of these cases was 11 years old, according to the registry.

Police found Fanning at his home on Miracle Drive, near Shively Park. The location is said to be 25 yards away from the elementary school.

Fanning was arrested shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday.
