JCPS stays open, as snow covered roads force closings and delays

Posted: Updated:

Louisville, Ky. (WDRB) -- A quick-moving snow storm blanketed much of metro Louisville and southern Indiana early today.

Snow and slush covered roads are being cleared by road crews.  The snow is quickly melting, but it does pose a problem for the morning commute.

Jefferson County Public Schools are open and running on schedule.  But many other districts opted for delays and closings.

Metro Louisville says it has already treated more than 720 miles of roadway with more than 216 tons of salt.

Snow headed out of Louisville and toward Shelbyville and Lexington.  Shelby County could see as much as six inches of snow, before the storm moves on.
