Community Foundation of Southern Indiana accepting tornado relief donation

Posted: Updated:

The Community Foundation of Southern Indiana is now accepting donations in person, through the mail and online for the foundation's disaster relief fund, which will benefit the organizations that are assisting those affected by Friday's devastating tornados.

"Our hearts go out to friends, relatives, co-workers and everyone affected by Friday's tornados in our area," says Linda Speed, President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana. "If you want to help, but are unsure where your gifts will have the most impact, a contribution to our Disaster Relief Fund will be used to address the immediate relief needs and long-term recovery for Clark County."

The Foundation is still determining how grants will be made from the fund and what assistance may be needed, both short and long-term, in Clark County. "We are and will remain available to assist non-profits that have the huge task of recovery and rebuilding ahead of them," Speed says. "Because of our extensive experience working with non-profits and donors, we can be of help especially in long-term planning."

Donations may be brought to the CFSI offices during daytime business hours or mailed to the offices at 4104 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN 47150. Donations may also be made online at, and click on tornado relief on the right-hand side of the home page of the site.

Many other organizations, including the Clark County Chapter of the American Red Cross, are accepting donations to assist those impacted from the storm. Donations may be made online to the American Red Cross at
