Facebook postings bring questions about Yum Center damage

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Facebook postings about vandalism at the Yum Center during the NCAA tournament had the State Fair Board asking questions.

Amanda Storment with the State Fair Board says Facebook postings and tweets mentioned possible vandalism at the arena, including damage to a sprinkler system, areas being spray painted, and damaged seats.

But KFC Yum! Center official Ted Milby could only confirm the sprinkler damage early Friday. He says a sprinkler system was pulled out in a stairwell before Thursday's Murray State game. It was fixed within 40 minutes.  Storment says the damage was due more to what she called "horseplay" than vandalism.

Yum Operations says it knows nothing about spray paint or torn seats.
