Henryville High students return to class Monday

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Hundreds of Henryville students will return to the classroom Monday for the first time since a tornado ravaged their community.

Students at Henryville Junior - Senior High School have missed three weeks of class since the March 2nd tornadoes.

The tornado tossed buses and destroyed most of the school.

Officials with West Clark Community School plan to ask the state of Indiana to waive the requirement that students must attend 180 instructional days.

The assistant superintendent believe keeping students in class into June would be detrimental.

The state department of education says it will work with the schools to come up with a solution.
