Lil E. Tee was the horse in 1992 who scored one of the biggest upsets in the history of the Kentucky Derby. It brought jockey Pat Day to the winner's circle for his first and only time on that first Saturday in May.
Day and his wife Sheila are celebrating the occasion throughout the spring meet at Churchill Downs. The Kentucky Derby Museum is bringing together the owner, trainer and jockey trophy for Lil E. Tee. And a party is being planned at the track on opening night.
The event will benefiting Mom's Closet Resource Center: dedicated to developing the potential of single moms in KY with encouragement, education and by setting a good example through a Christian viewpoint.
