More schools imposing Facebook limits for teachers

For a lot of us, it was shocking to see a schoolteacher at a supermarket buying groceries or at the laundromat, putting a load of clothing in the dryer. But now school authorities are weighing whether students should be able to run across their teachers in cyberspace.

So far, at least 40 school districts nationwide have developed social media policies -- governing things like whether students and teachers should ever be friends on Facebook.

Some educators parents and teachers feel it's a good idea for students and teachers to benefit from social networking. But others wonder if the risks of inappropriate contact are worth those educational benefits.
