U of L cheerleading program praised on 'GLEE'

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- If you're a fan of Glee then you most likely already know that Glee is apparently a fan of Louisville -- specifically U of L's cheerleading program.

On the episode that aired on Fox Tuesday night, Santana Lopez, a cheerleader on the show, was awarded a scholarship to U of L.

Cheerleading Coach Sue Sylvester hands Lopez an acceptance letter and explains: "You've got a full ride to the University of Louisville. It's the nation's top cheerleading program."

The mention hasn't gone unnoticed. There have been plenty of tweets and posts about it on other social media sites, and now it looks like there may soon be an official response from the university.

U of L spokesman and Director of Media Relations Mark Hebert says the cheerleading squad is planning on a response to capitalize on the publicity.

Glee airs Tuesdays at 8 right here on WDRB and FOX.
