LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Prosecutors are now calling the death of a 75-year old woman found in a registered sex offender's New Albany home a homicide.
Visitors found Christine Whitis dead last night inside William "Clyde" Gibson's home on Woodbourne Drive. Police later arrested Gibson near the Walmart off Grantline road, but they've only called him a person of interest.
He faces DUI, resisting arrest, and car theft charges. Friday, prosecutors revealed that the stolen car belonged to Whitis.
Floyd County Prosecutor Keith Henderson said, "We're going to do everything we can to hold the person responsible for the death of Miss Whitis and we'll move forward within Indiana law."
