U.S. Marshals, police arrest third man for teen's murder
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- U.S. Marshals, along with members of the Louisville Metro Police Department, have arrested Cannon "Curt" Pendergrass for the murder of 15-year-old Gregory Holt.
Holt's mother found his body at her apartment complex on Clover Street, near Dixie Highway, when she returned home in early April. He had been shot to death.
Kendra Wilson -- Holt's mother -- says at first she thought it was a break-in. Wilson says the front door had been kicked in, and Holt's bedroom door was locked and had four bullet holes in it.
Wilson says that's when she said she ran to the kitchen to get a knife.
"I opened the door -- I didn't see him in his chair in front of the TV playing a game, I didn't see him on the bed," Wilson said. "Come to find out he's where he tried to hide under the bed."
Holt was a student at Farnsley Middle School.
Pendergrass was arrested last week. He is the third person to face charges in connection with Holt's murder. Previously, police had arrested 18-year-old Anthony L. Hogan Jr. He was originally arrested by St. Matthews Police on a drug and weapons charge, but while being interviewed, police say he made a confession.
He allegedly told officers that on April 11, he went with two accomplices to the apartment on Clover Street and broke in. While inside, Holt was shot.
Police have charged Hogan with murder and burglary.
Police also arrested 29-year-old James Mallory last week.
He is charged with murder and first degree burglary in connection with the shooting death of 15-year-old Gregory Holt.
