LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jim Vargo has been director of the cross country and track and field programs at Bellarmine since 2000. He's also a Bellarmine grad -- class of 1982 -- and it's with some slightly mixed emotions he's seeing the records he set over three decades ago fall by the wayside.
Current Bellarmine senior Jordan Paravil broke Vargo's record in the 10,000 meters two weeks ago and he and two other Knights -- Sophomore Robert Sandlin, Jr. and Freshman Dominic Perronnie from Holy Cross High School -- will all be bidding for Vargo's 5,000 meter record in the school's final home meet of the season this Saturday.
