Rush Hour Balloon Race takes off in perfect weather

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It was a perfect morning for the Rush Hour Balloon Race.

The balloons launched from Bowman Field and filled the sky, chasing the U.S. Bank Balloon which is known as the "Hare" for their shot at victory.

The balloon pilots tried to drop a bag of bluegrass seed closest to a target.

The UAW Ford Kentucky Truck Plant balloon, piloted by Ray Donner, made first place, followed by the Zappos.com balloon, piloted by Charlie Hurst.

The Balloon Glow is scheduled for 9 p.m. tonight at the Kentucky Expo Center -- and the Great Balloon Race is scheduled to launch tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. from Bowman Field.

You'll need a Pegasus Pin for those events.@
