LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Officials say a tornado with winds topping 100 miles per hour destroyed homes and barns in rural western Indiana yesterday.

The storm hit Montgomery County in the town of New Ross.

The winds reduced two barns to rubble and uprooted trees.

Flying aluminum siding and debris got caught in trees and power lines.

No one was hurt.

The National Weather Service was also checking out reports of brief tornadoes near Columbus and the community of Yeddo in Fountain County.
