Night of Gala Presented by The Galt House Hotel benefits the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund, Inc. Rita Reedy of Galt House and regular jockey of Creative Cause, Joel Rosario, will tell us about th event and how you can rub elbows and party with Celebrity Jockeys.
This is the Thoroughbred of all derby parties. Don't Miss It! Hall of Fame Jockey Pat Day hosts the event along with the Galt House's Mary Ann Moseley.
It's an opportunity to rub elbows and party with Celebrity Jockeys that walk the red carpet.
And simply dance the night away with the nationally recognized band... Party On The Moon. This band played for the Presidential Inauguration and Donald Trump. The derby party includes passed hors d'oeuvres, limitless top shelf libations and over the top gourmet dining.
They'll be rolling out the red carpet for a slew of legendary jockeys from the past and present, including John Velazquez (2011 Kentucky Derby winner), Ron Turcotte (Triple Crown winner on Secretariat) and Jean Cruguet (Triple Crown winner on Seattle Slew).
Also in attendance will be jockeys Pat Day, Ramon Dominguez, Garrett Gomez, Rafael Bejarano, Joel Rosario, Julien Leparoux, Mike Smith and Javier Castellano.
SILENT AUCTION:
A guitar, autographed by country music superstar Toby Keith tops the list of items in this year's auction benefiting the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. The auction is part of the Galt House Hotel's "Night of… One Race, One Winner, One Party" on May 5, 2012. The Derby night party is in its second year. Last year, $60,000 was raised for PDJF. This year, the goal is $100,000.
Along with the Toby Keith autographed guitar, an autographed Red Solo Cup will be on the auction block. Toby Keith's light-hearted song "Red Solo Cup" is a top ten country hit and a YouTube favorite.
Party-goers will also have a chance to bid on one-of-a-kind Kentucky Derby memorabilia. That includes a jockey boot signed by the jockeys riding in the 138th Kentucky Derby.
Ticket holders will have access to Valet Parking, Complimentary Cocktails, and Gourmet Food Stations.
