LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Bloomington police are looking into whether there is a connection between a missing Indiana University student and a suspected serial killer in New Albany.
William Gibson is charged with the murders of Christine Whitis and Karen Hodella.
He could face another murder charge after Stephanie Kirk's body was found in his backyard.
As Bloomington police continue to search for Lauren Spierer, they confirm officers are making an inquiry with New Albany Police about Gibson.
They stress that they have no indication that there is any connection, but feel it is the responsible thing to do.
Lauren Spierer disappeared last June after a night of partying with friends.
