LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The redesigned Louisville-made Ford Escape will soon be in showrooms.

About a thousand new Escapes are parked at the Expo Center Parking lot, a couple of miles from the Louisville Assembly Plant where the new Escape is being manufactured.

A Ford spokesperson tells WDRB that the vehicles have passed inspections and will be shipped out to retailers. Dealers are eager to get the new Escape into their showrooms, then into the hands of eager customers.

Ford says besides the totally new look, the Escape will also have better fuel economy and come with the latest high-tech features.
