LOUISVILLE, KY (WDRB) -- The most exciting two minutes in sports lived up to it namesake with "I'll Have Another" and rookie jockey Mario Gutierrez claiming victory in Kentucky Derby 138.

Temperatures in the mid-80s didn't stop a record crowd from forming beneath the twin spires with more than 165,000 in attendance. Churchill Downs also set a record with $187 million in wagers from all sources.

Gutierrez said of his horse: "He's a really calm horse. I know he was going to help me 100% through the first part.  In the end, he just give 100% all the time.  As soon as you ask him, he throws everything on the race, and he didn't disappoint today."

"I'll Have Another" came from sixth or seventh place in the field to be morning-line favorite
"Bodemeister." Horse "Dullahan" came in third. "I'll Have Another" paid $32.50.

Like so many Derby's before it, the atmosphere this year encompassed women in big hats, sun burnt co-eds and twenty-somethings overly indulging on alcohol in the infield, and countless others wagers and sipping on mint juleps.
