Five women sue Marker's Mark

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky.  (WDRB) -- Five women who have worked for Maker's Mark are suing the company in federal court.

All five worked on the bottling line, dipping bottles of bourbon whiskey in red wax.

The lawsuit against Maker's Mark Distillery Inc., claims discrimination and sexual harassment.

It says the company kept women on the bottling line, while a sought-after forklift driving job went to less qualified male workers.

It also claims that one of the women was fired after complaining about inappropriate sexual comments at work.

Maker's Mark has not yet responded to the suit in court.
