On May 27, Tampa Bay Veterans Alliance will host a family-friendly event in Crest Lake Park

After last year’s 400 plus turnout in Station Square Park, The Tampa Bay Veteran’s Alliance (TBVA) will host this year’s Memorial Day Tribute on Sunday, May 27, 2012, at 7:30pm in Crest Lake Park in Downtown Clearwater, at Gulf-to-Bay & Glenwood streets.
This year, to honor the Veterans, the night will feature a ceremony with special events including:
“The nation pauses from its daily routine to remember those who committed their lives to preserve our national’s ideals and express our gratitude. This family-friendly event will do just that,” commented Ruth Rymal, President, Tampa Bay Veterans Alliance.
This family-friendly event will be free to all and open to the public. In addition to the ceremony, guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets to enjoy a full length family movie, when the sun goes down, “Taking Chance,” starring Kevin Bacon. There will be food concessions available for purchases as well.

Founded in 2005, The Tampa Bay Veterans Alliance, TBVA, is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization developed to provide the citizens of the Tampa Bay area communities an opportunity to show their appreciation to the veterans of the United States military services. Its main event is the annual Tampa Bay Veterans Appreciation Day where the community joins together to honor all who have served, or presently serve, in the Armed Forces.
