LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman has been arrested after police say she left three children alone in a car in the parking lot of Kroger near the corner of 27th St. and W. Broadway.
Just before 9:00 p.m. on Monday, police were sent to that location on a report of children left alone inside a car.
When they arrived, police say they found three children -- ages 6, 3 and six months -- inside a vehicle that was running, and unlocked.
Police say there was, "not a guardian in sight."
It was about four-to-five minutes later that 28-year-old Larricia Y. Woodford showed up at the scene. Police say the only reason she arrived was, "because she stated she received a phone call that stated the police were beside her vehicle."
According to the arrest report, Woodford had a grocery basket full of store merchandise, and police were told that she had been shopping for at least 10 minutes before the police were called.
"In the high-violent-crime area of West Broadway, there are several plausible concerns for leaving children alone inside a vehicle," police say.
Woodford was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, a misdemeanor.
