LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- The woman convicted of trying to extort Rick Pitino is still fighting to get out of prison. Karen Sypher is appealing her convictions on extortion, lying to the FBI, and retaliation against a witness.
A federal appeals court in Cincinnati is set to hear her case at the end of the month.
Sypher is serving a seven-year sentence at a federal prison in Florida after a jury found her guilty of trying to get millions from the U of L basketball coach to stay quiet about their tryst in a Louisville restaurant.
