LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a teen is in trouble with the law after allegedly assaulting his underage girlfriend and confining her against her will.
According to the police report, officers were called to the 100 block of west Adair Street after receiving reports of possible domestic violence. She was thought to be with 18-year-old Michael D. Ortiz, who was suspected of assaulting the girl and holding her against her will.
Ortiz wasn't at the residence when police arrived, but officers soon found him at the intersection of Second and Florence just before 7:30 p.m. That's where police say Ortiz had been holding the minor against her will. Police say Ortiz refused to let her call her parents or police, and that the victim had "marks on her neck consistent with being forcefully grabbed."
Witnesses at a nearby Circle K told police they saw Ortiz strike the girl several times before officers arrived.
Ortiz was arrested and charged with unlawful imprisonment and assault.
