LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- David Williams says he had no idea there were problems brewing in the agriculture department when he asked Richie Farmer to be his running mate.
The Kentucky Senate President's comments to a local radio station today were the first since a scathing state audit of Farmer's eight years as agriculture commissioner.
Williams says he chose the former UK basketball star as his gubernatorial running mate because he was the most popular political figure in the state at the time.
