LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was hospitalized after he was chased and shot twice by an unknown gunman as he was walking in downtown Louisville.

According to the arrest report, it happened around 8 p.m. in the area of 12th and Muhammad Ali Blvd on May 9. The victim told police he was walking on 12th Street towards Muhammad Ali when he heard gunshots -- and it turned out that those gunshots were aimed at him.

Police say the victim stated he saw the suspect -- 19-year-old Roman L. Brown of 550 south Eighth Street -- waving a handgun and firing at him. The victim told police he tried to run away but two bullets struck him. One bullet hit him in the rear upper thigh and another grazed the top of his head.

The victim was taken to University Hospital where he was treated and released. He later identified Brown from a photo lineup.
