Ron Paul exit spared son from awkward Ky. primary

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has prevented a potentially awkward situation for his son, US Senator Rand Paul, before Tuesday's Kentucky primary.

Ron Paul was expected to take a shellacking from presumed GOP nominee Mitt Romney this week.

That's despite his son's popularity in the state.

Ron Paul has said he is still competing for delegates, but is no longer spending money on his campaign.

President Obama faces a tough position in Kentucky, where voters have two options on the ballot -- Obama or uncommitted.
