LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a 5-year-old boy was beaten so badly by his stepfather that he had to go to the emergency room at Kosair Children's Hospital.
Mohamed Mohamed is accused of beating the boy all over his body with, "a large kitchen spoon." Police say it happened on May 8.
Authorities were contacted after the boy told his mother what happened. He was then taken to the hospital.
Police say the child suffered multiple bruises and swelling to the head and face, as well as a laceration to the back of the head, which required care. Photos were taken of his injuries.
Mohamed later admitted to beating the child, "repeatedly everywhere about his body." He was charged with first degree criminal abuse.
