LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41)---A Jeffersonville man is behind bars, after authorities say he barricaded himself in his mother's home for hours.
41-year-old Richard Franklin is behind bars in Clark County on charges of resisting law enforcement, and false reporting.
Police were initially called to Center Street around 9:30 Saturday night for a burglary call.
The victim told police he suspected his neighbor, Richard Franklin.
That's when police say Franklin drove down the street and barricaded himself in his mother's home.
The SWAT team and negotiators were called in to help.
They say Franklin claimed he sabotaged a gas line, and threatened to blow up the home with officers inside.
He eventually surrendered around 1:00 Sunday morning.
They say his mother made it out of the home safely.
Police say Franklin also had an outstanding warrant for probation violation.
