LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An apparent road rage incident landed a Louisville man in front of a judge Thursday morning.  William Malin has been charged with wanton endangerment.

Police say Malin was heading east on I-265 around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and according to the arrest report, the alleged victim was returning home from work when he noticed a vehicle in front of him continuously applying his brakes and then pulling over into the right lane and slowing down.

Police say the alleged victim continued to follow, unaware of what the driver in the front vehicle was doing. As both vehicles were exiting on Smyrna Road, the alleged victim pulled up beside the suspect -- identified as 31-year-old William Malin.

That's when the alleged victim noticed Malin was pointing a gun at him and then fired one shot above the alleged victim's car. Malin told police he fired his weapon because he felt threatened.

He was released from jail under the condition that he not carry a weapon or have contact with the victim.
