LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Thursday night was the first night for Greater Clark County Schools parents to get a look at their potential new superintendent.
Dr. Andrew Melin was introduced at a public forum. He is the only finalist for the job.
Dr. Melin would replace Dr. Stephen Daseschner, who the board voted to replace last year.
Board members did not renew Dr. Daeschner's contract because his $225,000 yearly salary was costing the district too much money.
The school district faces a $4 million budget deficit.
But Dr. Melin comes from a school district with financial issues of its own.
Valparaisio Community Schools are currently being audited for misuse of funds.
Nancy Kraft, a school board member, says, "When an audit goes to the prosecutor it concerns me, but we'll have to see what he's going to do with that audit, that's the important part."
A decision is expected by Monday.
