LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A standoff in Lawrenceburg, Ind. that led to a brief evacuation ended with police shooting a suspect.

Indiana State Police say they arrested 31-year-old William Hoffman after he was wounded in a shootout with officers late Thursday night.

Police say Hoffman went inside after police got to the scene about 8:45 p.m, and came back out onto the porch with a shotgun.  They say Hoffman began shooting at officers from inside the house about 11 p.m.  Officers returned fire, stormed the house about 3 a.m., and arrested Hoffman.

Hoffman was treated at a Cincinnati hospital for a gunshot wound to his shoulder.  His injuries don't appear to be life-threatening.  He faces criminal recklessness charges.
