FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- U.S. Sen. Rand Paul has said he supports Republican Mitt Romney for president.
Paul made that announcement Thursday on Fox News, nearly a month after his father, Texas Congressman Ron Paul, suspended his presidential campaign.
Romney said in a statement that he's grateful to have Rand Paul's endorsement and that he looks forward to working with the Kentucky senator "to get America back on the right track."
Rand Paul told Fox News that his father remains his first pick, but that he will be supporting Romney now that he has the GOP nomination in hand.
