Accused serial killer admits guilt

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An accused serial killer writes a letter admitting his guilt and saying he will accept the death penalty for his crimes.

In the letter, William "Clyde" Gibson told The Courier-Journal that he would plead guilty and accept the death penalty quote "just to save some more heartache."

Gibson is accused of killing three women over the span of 10 years.

He was arrested after the body of Christine Whitis was found in the garage of his New Albany home.

Days later, he reportedly connected himself to the 2002 murder of Karen Hodella.

After that, police later found the body of Stephanie Kirk buried in his backyard.

Gibson's attorney told the newspaper he plans to "vigorously defend him."
