Corky Miller Keeps Big League Dream Alive

Posted: Updated:

The life of a minor league baseball player can be a grind...
Hours on a bus...
Crowds of... hundreds.
Every swing, step, and throw dissected by the decision-makers in the office above...
But yet, Louisville Bats catcher Corky Miller keeps coming back for more.

Miller understands that some might consider the sun to have set on his pursuit of Major League Baseball... Miller might also tell you he really doesn't care what you think.

The 36-year old's dream to return to the big leagues lives on despite limited pay (quick SOT on pay), and required offseason work doing construction to provide for his family.

But with 199 career MLB games under his hefty belt, Corky -- which, by the way, is his given birth name -- can provide something to this year's Louisville Bats. Leadership and experience... qualities a team in last place can rely on when trying to turn things around.

So Corky Miller keeps hammering away at the baseball grind... believing, dreaming, and hoping his big league opportunity hasn't come and gone.  And while he waits, he'll keep putting the Bats uniform on everyday until someone tells him to stop.
