No second chance: Louisville man accused of escape attempt to stay in jail

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A flight risk label and $50,000 are keeping a Louisville man seen on video attacking a Jefferson County Sheriff's deputy behind bars.

41-year-old Kristopher Bacanskas pleaded not guilty in court to escape, assault, menacing, and criminal mischief charges.  He was in Judge Judith McDonald Burkman's court yesterday on a wanton endangerment charge when he was put back in a holding cell.

When a deputy unlocked the cell to get another prisoner out, Bacanskas could be seen rushing the deputy and busting into court.  It took three deputies to get him under control, and it was all caught on camera.

The deputies were not hurt.
